Accused murderer arraigned before capacity crowd
POUGHKEEPSIE – Town of Pawling resident Giuseppe Vassallo, 43, was arraigned on felony murder charges in Dutchess County Court on Thursday morning. Vassallo was originally charged with attempted murder for a March altercation at his residence in which he stabbed 42-year-old Pawling resident Nathaniel Vieira. The victim succumbed to his injuries in a Connecticut hospital three weeks later and the charge against Vassallo was upgraded to murder.

POUGHKEEPSIE – A shooting incident in Poughkeepsie Tuesday afternoon critically injured one male teenager while his opponent also sustained a wound that required a trip to the hospital. The incident began minutes before 3 p.m. in the vicinity of the corner store at Fox Terrace and South White Street where Poughkeepsie High School students gather after the 2:40 p.m. dismissal.
