Laughlin police reports – April 1-26
LAUGHLIN — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers in Laughlin responded to 12 crimes against people, 26 crimes against property and four crimes against society from April 1 through 26, including 12 assaults, six motor vehicle thefts, nine offenses of destruction, damage or vandalism of property, three thefts from a motor vehicle and four drug offenses.
Second phase of Laughlin road rehab project now underway
LAUGHLIN — Work began on Monday on the second and final phase of a project to rebuild all the streets in Laughlin’s residential area. Clark County recently issued the official notice to proceed on the $7.45 million project in the neighborhoods around El Mirage Way and James A. Bilbray Parkway, which will include improvements to 6.8 miles of roads in five subdivisions.
Softball Recap: Lincoln County has no trouble against Laughlin
Lincoln County put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Laughlin Cougars as the Lincoln County Lynx made off with a 20-2 victory. The win was familiar territory for Lincoln County who now have eight in a row.
Camp Verde man sentenced to prison for fatal crash
KINGMAN — A Camp Verde man convicted of a June 2023 fatal crash in Dolan Springs was sentenced to prison Friday. Benjamin Christopher Nettrour, 37, was convicted in March of manslaughter, three counts of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.

Inaugural Poppy Days to celebrate Golden Valley community
GOLDEN VALLEY — The inaugural Golden Valley Poppy Days event for kids and families in Golden Valley will be held May 3 and 4 at American Legion Post #22. Poppy Days is a non-profit event to celebrate the Golden Valley community and bring awareness for the need for more activities for kids in the community. There will be food, vendors, prizes, raffles and more.
Laughlin baseball and softball swept in doubleheaders
LAUGHLIN – The Laughlin High School baseball and softball teams were both in action last week for a pair of doubleheaders. The baseball team competed on April 22, losing to Awaken Christian 14-2 and 11-1. In both games, the Cougars tossed a scoreless first inning but went on to fall big before being swept against Lake Mead Academy and were outscored 44-2 to fall to 10-12 this season.
