Claremont Police Department officers were called to the 700 block of Lancaster Drive at 5:15 p.m. regarding a car theft. When police arrived the victim explained he had parked his unlocked car in the area and someone had stolen his backpack containing two loaded firearms. Police then identified and questioned two suspects, Colton resident, Robert Torres, and Oscar Gonzalez of Rialto, but the guns were not found. Torres and Gonzalez were taken to the Claremont jail and charged with felony grand theft.

On February 17 & 18, 2024, ten students from Diamond Bar High School (DBHS) Mock Trial team competed in the National American Moot Court Competition at the University of Chicago. They competed in pairs, and only the top 16 teams progressed to the elimination rounds. The teams included Mia Artale and Ashley Cha, Annie Kung and Doria Chen, Jeremiah Jung and Hilary Hui, Gloria Nien and Chloe Zhuo, and Sean Yu and Chloe Schaefer.
