Driver injured, passenger killed in single-vehicle crash near Alto
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A single-vehicle crash left one person dead and another injured after a Saturday afternoon crash in Cherokee County. According to a report by the Texas Department of Public Safety, shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday, Robert Cross, 81, of Universal City was traveling eastbound on State High 21 about 4 miles east of Alto. The report states that Cross failed to drive in a single lane when his vehicle left the highway when he overcorrected and traveled into a ditch and struck a tree on the passenger side.
