Douglas Elliman Development Marketing (DEDM), a division of independent real estate brokerage Douglas Elliman Realty in New York City, will lead marketing and sales for The Residences at The Detroit EDITION at Hudson’s Detroit.

The new luxury residential project by EDITION Hotels and the Detroit real estate firm Bedrock is located at 1208 Woodward Ave. on the site of the former J. L. Hudson’s department store. The Residences at The Detroit EDITION was designed by SHoP Architects, with interiors by Yabu Pushelberg.

Elliman agents Andrew Anderson and Bruce Ehrmann will lead sales and marketing. It is Douglas Elliman’s first project in the metro Detroit market, the fastest-appreciating housing market in the United States in 2023, according to the financial services firm CoreLogic.

A nearly 4,000-square-foot sales center for the luxury condominiums will open soon at 1225 Woodward (across from Hudson’s Detroit and just south of Hudson’s Cafe), and be available by appointment only.

The announcement of the residences came a day after General Motors Co. said it will move its global headquarters from the Renaissance Center to a midrise building immediately north of the Hudson’s tower, which will be the second-tallest skyscraper in Michigan when completed next year.

“The Residences at The Detroit EDITION represent an exciting new chapter in the life of this important American city,” says Howard M. Lorber, executive chairman of Douglas Elliman. “We could not be prouder to be among such esteemed partners on such an impactful project.”

The Residences at The Detroit EDITION is meant to offer a fresh approach to living in Detroit. The 48-story tower will comprise 97 one- to four-bedroom condominium residences with hardwood floors, 10-foot-plus-high ceilings, custom kitchens by WoodMode, and more.

“Like every other residential offering from this brand, known for individualized experiences, The Residences at The Detroit EDITION will provide homeowners with the highest standard in modern city living,” says Susan de França, president and CEO of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.

“From exceptional architecture and interior design to elevated amenities and hotel services, as well as easy access to a host of cultural destinations, residents will experience Detroit at its absolute best.”

In addition to the residences in the tower, there will be an EDITION luxury lifestyle hotel offering approximately 220 rooms. The five-star hotel brand EDITION was conceived by Ian Schrager, former owner of Studio 54 in New York City with the late Steve Rubell, in partnership with Marriott International.
