The Detroit Lions really outdid themselves with this one. Let me just plant my flag right here and say that I am definitely a black jersey guy and always have been. I've been hoping to see them come back for a long time. I know I wasn't alone. Lots of Lions fans wanted them back and apparently Dan Campbell did too. Now they're here and they are cooler than ever. Let's break the look down.

The Helmet

The Lions introduced a new blue helmet last year and the look they went with was a short lived one. The Lions have introduced a new blue helmet that features a black Lions logo and black racing stripe. It's easily the coolest helmet in the NFL without even trying.

The pants in two ways

The Lions are going to use the black in two different ways. There's the all black look with the black pants. That's pictured above in this articles featured image. Then there's the blue pants that you see here with Jahmyr Gibbs. Either way works. I'm personally a little more partial to the blackout look, but the blue pants really pop with this.

The Jersey

We've seen the jersey all day and we know how cool it looks. It's the Lions new style with the lights turned out. The blue just jumps off the jersey in a way that it didn't with the previous look. They also found a way to incorporate black into their look without jamming in it there. This was well thought out. A big win for the Lions design team and front office. A big win for the fans that will be buying them.
