Felon Convicted of Murder for Shotgun Slaying in Desert Hot Springs
A felon who killed a Desert Hot Springs man in a sales dispute that led to vandalism and an ultimately deadly confrontation was found guilty Tuesday of murder. A Banning jury deliberated barely a day before convicting James John Angle of Indio of the 2018 death of Joseph Gimino. Along with murder, jurors found Angle guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm and sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily allegations.
Wildfire scorches land near Morongo Grade
MORONGO VALLEY — A wildfire grew from 100 feet by 100 feet to 9.5 acres in west Morongo Valley before firefighters were able to contain it Wednesday. Morongo Valley, San Bernardino County and Cal Fire crews and air units battled the fire. Cal Fire reported 14 engines, a bulldozer, an air attack craft, air tanker and helicopter were all assigned.

Tracking gusty winds and poor air quality
Air quality has fallen sharply overnight, dropping to "Unhealthy" in areas of Riverside and Imperial counties. The South Coast Air Quality Management District has issued an Air Quality Alert for the Valley and portions of Imperial Valley because of the lowered air quality. People with respiratory issues should stay indoors as much as possible until AQI improves.
