DENVER ( KDVR ) — Denver and the Front Range were hit with rain and snow on Saturday, with some roads even flooding from the heavy precipitation.

This may have you wondering if anything was record-shattering about this particular spring storm.

For better or worse, no records were broken on Saturday, though the 1.5 inches of precipitation did help April 2024 break into the list of the 20 wettest Aprils on record — with 3.28 inches overall. Specifically, it took the No. 18 spot.

Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Greg Perez said it was also the wettest April day in the city since April 2007 or in 17 years.

Boulder was also hit by a decent amount of rain, with the city receiving a reported 1.93 inches on Saturday.

The following are rainfall reports from Saturday, April 27:

    Location Rainfall
    Denver 1.50 inches
    Boulder 1.93 inches
    Northglenn 0.75 inches
    Wheat Ridge 0.85 inches
    Greeley 0.57 inches
    Fort Collins 0.29 inches
    Loveland 0.66 inches
    Longmont 1.10 inches

Not every weather station had reported rainfall totals as of Sunday morning, so some areas may not be listed.

Including Saturday’s downpour, Denver has received 3.28 inches of precipitation this month. This includes both rain and snowfall.

This is much more than it has received in recent years. In April 2023, the city received 0.8 inches of precipitation, while in 2022 it received only 0.06 inches.

In addition to being in the top 20 for the month, April 2024 is also the wettest since the city received 5.86 inches in 1999.

According to NWS data, Denver, on average, receives around 1.68 inches of precipitation in April.
