A tragic crash early Tuesday morning claimed the life of a 73-year-old woman in Palm Beach Gardens, when her car was struck by a dump truck, authorities reported. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office disclosed that the collision took place near the intersection of Bee Line Highway and PGA Boulevard at approximately 6:17 a.m. Margaret Zenga, the woman behind the wheel of a white Mercedes, had been waiting at a red light in the left turn lane of the westbound lanes on PGA Boulevard, WPTV reported. Meanwhile, the driver of the dump truck was heading northwest on Beeline Highway where it intersected with PGA Boulevard on a green light.

Two people struck by SUV while crossing road in Pompano Beach
FORT LAUDERDALE - Two people were taken to the hospital after they were struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Pompano Beach. A witness said the driver of a Toyota SUV drove over the train tracks on W Sample Road at a high rate of speed and struck a couple crossing the street near Andrews Avenue. "The vehicle was going way too fast and he was not alert to the railroad track. Usually what happens when you cross a railroad track is that you slow down, even if there is no train coming, because you know that there is that hump," he said.He said the man tried to push the woman out of the way but both were struck. He added that he knows the couple and they were crossing the street to get to him."They were full of joy. I pray that everything goes good for them, I pray for their families, cause God knows they've only been doing good," he said. The Broward Sheriff's Office said the man had critical injuries while the woman had life-threatening injuries. The driver stayed on the scene and waited for Broward sheriff's deputies to arrive.
