Mock crash teaches lesson
Maple Lake High School students learned a valuable lesson Wednesday, May 8 that organizers hope they won’t soon forget – it was the day of the mock crash. Students took their seats on bleachers in the north school parking lot where they were given a brief synopsis of the situation before tarps were removed from the staged scene. Before them two vehicles lay twisted and broken and in the debris two student-actors lay still. One had been thrown from the vehicle and the other was draped lifelessly across the hood of the car.

Maple Lake resident John Rivers appeared in the Maple Lake City Council public forum to argue that vermin in Maple Lake with junk yards are destroying his property values and should have their property bulldozed (my residence and museum) for starters. Mr. Rivers owns a mega mansion south of town and these are the property values for that property:
Corcoran looks to fill vacant council seat
At its May 9 meeting, the Corcoran City Council considered its next steps in filling a vacancy on the council. The ninth planned building in the Arbor Lakes Business Park development will increase by 25%, thanks to an approved amendment May 6 by the Maple Grove City Council. The Arbor Lakes Business Park development is located within a large portion of land south of Elm Creek Boulevard, east of Zachary Lane and north of Interstate 94. “Endeavor Development is continuing to seek development of the Arbor Lakes Business Park with construction of its ninth building,” Economic Development Manager Joe Amerman said. ...
Orono home deemed total loss after massive fire
ORONO, Minn. — A family was able to escape a destructive blaze that took down their home in Orono on Sunday. Three family members were inside the home when the fire began just before 7 p.m. All of them were able to safely escape the burning structure along with the family dog, an emergency responder on the scene told KARE 11.
