Overnight construction to temporarily close portion of US 25E
KNOXVILLE — Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is advising motorists traveling on US 25E (State Route 32) in Cocke County to be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic. Beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, June 3, US 25E (State Route 32) will be closed between Lehigh Road and Hilltop Drive as crews will be installing additional traffic control devices in anticipation of upcoming slide repair work. This road closure will end on or before 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4. Signage will be in place to direct motorists to the detour route. This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.

MARSHALL - If there's an opposite of the expression "third time's a charm," that expression would apply to the case of the Madison County Board of Adjustment May 28 meeting. In that meeting, in which the voluntary board met for nearly five hours at the Marshall library, the board denied an applicant's request for a variance to the county's 50-foot setback requirement after approving the first two projects to come before the board.
