Making a DIY 3D Hologram with Lions Learning Lab
ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Our friends Justin Huffman and Lynn Dalby from the Lions Learning Lab at Penn State Altoona stopped by to show us a neat trick to make a DIY 3D Hologram at home! All you need are a few items to do it! You know the dome shaped plastic lids that come on top of your favorite slushie or coffee drink? You’ll need one of those or a clear plastic solo cup. Then you’ll also need a way to make some shapes with a clear plastic material, in this case Lynn used a clear plastic plate from the Dollar Tree. Once you get your shapes cut out, you can tape them down to the cup or the dome and viola! All you need now is a phone or a tablet. From there you will need to search for a video of a goldfish, a butterfly, a flower blooming, or something similar, but search it on a black background. Then you want to play the video and place your plastic piece on top! Watch as your 3D hologram comes to life right before your eyes!
