    Deerfield softball earns mercy-rule win against Parkview

    The Deerfield softball team had five players cross the plate three times in a 21-0 win over Parkview on Tuesday, April 23 at Deerfield High School.

    Junior Rylee Betthauser, junior Cora Nelson, sophomore Lily Betthauser, freshman Mia Haberkorn and junior Addison Klein scored a total of 15 runs between the five of them.

    Junior Lydia Mack and sophomore Riley Fisher both scored twice, while sophomore Rowan Lasack and junior Saige LaChance each scored a run. Lasack led the Demons with four RBIs.

    Mack, Fisher and Haberkorn both drove in two runs, while Rylee Betthauser, Lily Betthauser and Klein all recorded an RBI.

    Klein pitched two innings, recording four strikeouts and allowing two hits. Freshman Sydney Kind pitched an inning, allowing one hit and recording a strikeout.

    Deerfield is 6-1 in the Trailways-South Conference.
