The Holden man known as “Turtleboy” can attend the Karen Read murder trial, a Dedham District Court judge ruled on Friday, The Boston Globe reported. Aidan Kearney, 42, appeared in Dedham District Court for a pre-trial hearing. Unrelated to the Read trial, he was charged separately with violating a restraining order with his former girlfriend.
Reading police search for driver in hit-and-run crash involving 10-year-old
Reading police are asking the public to help them identify a driver involved in a hit-and-run car crash in which they say a 10-year-old was injured. The crash happened at the intersection of Washington and High Streets just before 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, police said in a Facebook post. The child was hit while riding their bike.
Karen Read murder trial gets under way this week
The trial for Karen Read, the Massachusetts woman accused who is accused in the 2022 death of her Boston police officer boyfriend, gets underway Monday. Read, 43, of Mansfield, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and other charges. The prosecution says she hit her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe, with her vehicle outside of a home in Canton during a snowstorm on Jan. 29, 2022, following a night of drinking.
