DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — If you’ve ever wanted to volunteer for NASA while getting paid, now could be your chance.

In a study to survey motion sickness in space, chosen volunteers will have 60 minutes of 2.5Gx exposure of the Kraken Disorientation Research Device at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. NASA says individuals will participate for roughly four to six hours across two days for the study.

Massive first responder presence expected in Clark County

To qualify, interested individuals must be active-duty military or a TRICARE beneficiary and between the ages of 21 and 60 years old. People should not have substantial medical or vestibular concerns, not be pregnant, not have been exposed to centrifuge training for three days prior and not susceptible to motion sickness.

For completing the study, participants will receive $250 in gift cards, plus another $50 gift card. According to NASA, only “off‐duty status” and people on leave will receive payment.
