Dimmitt Fire Department gets upgrade with new fire truck purchase
DIMMITT, Texas (KFDA) - The Dimmitt Fire Department is retiring its oldest fire engine and upgrading to a brand-new, custom-made fire truck. “The fire trucks we have now, our main engine is 32 years old, our back up engine is over 20 years old. They’re still in good shape but it’s something that needs to be addressed and that’s what we did by ordering this new engine,” said Dimmitt Fire Chief Corey Lane.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Police Department says a man is dead after a motorcycle crash on Thursday evening. According to officials, on Thursday, May 2 around 9:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to a major crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at Soncy Road and Bent Tree Drive.

Following the death of Dr. Paul Engler on May 3, West Texas A&M University announced that four professorships were established to honor the legacy of the late entrepreneur who worked diligently in the Texas Panhandle cattle-feeding industry.
The WT Symphonic Band's 2024 TMEA Program

Hereford Medical Center looks to expand pediatric therapy center with federal grant
HEREFORD, Texas (KFDA) - Hereford Regional Medical Center has applied for a federal grant to expand its pediatric therapy center. “This expansion of our PT department is what we are requesting through this grant. We’ve identified a need within our patient population within this area and surrounding areas, while we’ve seen growth in that department,” said Candice Smith, CEO of Deaf Smith County Hospital District.
