MURRAY COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) and their Marijuana Enforcement Teams (MET) arrested five people on Thursday, April 18, 2024, for growing marijuana illegally.
MET conducted an inspection of an OBN registration applicant located south of Davis, Oklahoma, in Murray County when they discovered an additional indoor marijuana grow next door to where they were inspecting.
MET spoke with the individuals who were present at the operation and followed up with an investigation before discovering the location was growing marijuana without a proper OMMA license or OBN registration.
A search warrant was obtained and executed at the location before seizing 11,771 marijuana plants along with 545 pounds of processed marijuana flower.
OBN was assisted by Murray County Sheriffs and Murray County Commissioners with the arrest of five suspects for cultivation of illegal marijuana, aggravated manufacture of marijuana, and trafficking marijuana.
The five suspects were identified as Wenhua Chen, Yuejha Jhuang, Meihua Lian, Jingding Qiu, and Jianshem Wu.
MET has shut down over 3,000 illegal marijuana grows and have arrested over 300 individuals since 2021 while seizing over 1 million pounds of marijuana.
Those who have any information about criminal drug activity can anonymously DM details to OBN via Facebook or call the OBN Tip-line at 1-800-522-8031.
