What Africatown Hall means to community founded by survivors of the Clotilda slave ship
The Africatown Heritage House opened almost 11 months ago and became known as one of the top new museums in the United States. The next project within the historic community is opening soon. Within in a matter of a few short weeks, Africatown Hall will open and represent the second major initiative within the community since the unearthing of the hull from the Clotilda slave ship approximately five years ago in May 2019.

Update: Rip current statement affecting Mobile and Baldwin counties until early Tuesday morning
On Monday at 11:46 p.m. an updated rip current statement was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until Tuesday at 5 a.m. for Mobile and Baldwin counties. "Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water," describes the weather service. "Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help."

Inaugural Gulf Coast Caribbean Festival held in Mobile
