Danville’s Sports and Brews returning for third year

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — First Fridays Sports and Brews is coming back to Danville for its third year.

The outdoor festival will be held downtown on May 3 from 5 to 8 p.m., city officials said. The event will span two blocks of Vermilion Street and one block of North Street, with food and activities lining the event zone.

Those activities will include ziplining, rock climbing, pop-a-shot, jumbo cup pong, bounce houses, a dunk tank and karaoke , officials said. Local food trucks will also be serving food and drinks, including Hangry, Motley Food, Low Life Kitchen and Up in Smoke.

New church opens in Rantoul, expanding social services and counseling support

Admission to the event will be $5. Additional funds from the dunk tank will go toward supporting downtown businesses, city officials said.

Vermilion and North Streets will close the day of the event at 2 p.m. and will remain closed until 9:45 that evening. Barricades will be in place on Vermilion from Harrison Street to Main Street, and North Street will be barricaded on either side of Vermilion to the closet alleys.
