GEORGETOWN – The Cissna Park High School girls basketball team won 51-25 in its Vermilion Valley Conference debut over Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Saturday. Lauryn Hamrick scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds off the bench for Cissna Park (6-2, 1-0 VVC) while Addison Lucht also scored in double figures with 12 points, four rebounds, six steals and five assists.

The Newton Eagles defeated the Paris Tigers with a final score of 63-26. The Eagles had a strong lead at the end of the first quarter with a score of 20-13. At the end of the half, the Eagles were at 35 to the Tigers 19. In the third quarter the Eagles scored 17 to the Tiger’s 5. In the final quarter the Eagles scored 11 and the Tigers 2.
