Allegany County man dies in crash
WIRT, N.Y. — An Allegany County man is dead following a head-on collision in the Town of Wirt. The crash happened Tuesday just after 2 p.m. on State Route 275. New York State Troopers say a 2012 Ford Escape was traveling north on State Route 275 crossing over into the south lane, hitting a 2024 Hyundai head-on. The driver of the Ford Escape, 48-year-old Michael R. Coats, was pronounced dead at the scene. The people in the other vehicle had either no or minor injuries.

A Finger Lakes car wash company is hoping to start construction this summer in the City of Hornell. Auto Wash plans to build a new facility on vacant land located at the end of Hornell Street Extension. The car wash would be located between Hornell Street and Maple City Drive.
