Owner Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have been under a microscope since NFL free agency opened earlier in March.

Jones had indicated following their humiliating loss to the Green Bay Packers in the NFL Wild Card Playoffs that the Cowboys were set to go “ all in ” this offseason.

That has been far from the case since free agency opened more than two weeks ago. In fact, Dallas has spent a league-low $11.13 million in free agency this offseason. The team has also lost the likes of Dorance Armstrong, Tyler Biadasz, Tony Pollard, Dante Fowler Jer, Johnathan Hankins, Neville Gallimore and Tyron Smith on the open market.

A lot of this has to do with Dak Prescott and his $55.46 million cap hit for the 2024 season. Dallas was unable to come to terms with him on an extension ahead of free agency , creating some major cap issues once the new league year started.

Dallas Cowboys legend Dez Bryant rips into Jerry Jones for latest comment

Jones said this from the NFL meetings earlier in the week. “I feel as good any time going into the offseason as I can remember.”

Former Cowboys star Dez Bryant provided a short response to Jones’ comments. But it was not subtle by any stretch of the imagination.

This has to be the same sentiment Cowboys fans the world over are feeling right now. Dallas’ only notable free agent addition came in the form of former All-Pro linebacker Eric Kendricks . He opted to sign with the Cowboys after pulling out of a deal with the rival San Francisco 49ers.

Dallas heads into NFL Draft season with new starters either in place or having to be filled at wide receiver, left tackle, left guard, center, running back, defensive tackle, linebacker and free safety.

For a team that fancies itself as a legitimate Super Bowl contender, this is not an ideal scenario. Bryant seemingly agrees.
