Pride flags vandalized in Exeter Township
READING, Pa. - The new leader of the LGBT Center of Greater Reading said someone defaced her Pride flag, and she is aware of at least one similar incident in the county. "We woke up to our flag being vandalized and a sticker left on our flag post," said Laura Biancone, interim executive director of the LGBT Center of Greater Reading.

W-B Academy students study Native American cultures

To celebrate our learning, we performed a Native American poetry animation entitled “Sky Bear,” about the origin of the Ursa Major (Big Bear) constellation, and a play entitled “The Star and the Lily” about how the beautiful waterlily came to be. Students shown include: David Sperlazzo, Mason Qualters, Ayva Guntur, Eliana Hrichison, Paisley Sims, Eulalie Holly, Emilia Gillam, Lily Gorski, Brayden Pientka, Miles Spencer, Abigail Sompayrac, Colin Perry, John Patrick Robinson, Jaxon Senczakowicz, Aria Kaluzny, and Gabrielle Adonis.

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mechanicsburg can now relate to. They fell 4-1 to the Pittston Patriots on Thursday. For Pittston's part, Gianna Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. Adams has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 20 consecutive pitching appearances.

NEPA community rallies for child hit by car
A community in Luzerne County came together Sunday to show support for 10-year-old girl Alexis Brown, who was struck by a car last week while walking to the Butler Street Park. Alexis' parents say she is being cared for at Geisinger near Danville after suffering a brain bleed that has since healed, a broken leg, and facial injuries. The third grade class at Wilkes-Barre Academy recently participated in a school bike-a-thon to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital. This program was supported by all grades at Wilkes-Barre Academy, from Kindergarten through Fourth. The students were excited to help children in need through their riding and monetary donations. Some even learned to ride a bike for this occasion.
