Gatsie Grace’s and Glory Be Hat Company open for business

Home goods, decor, and gifts, oh my! After dedication and lots of sewing, Gatsie’s Grace cut the ribbon for their brand new location.

What started as a simple joy for sewing grew into something more. The owner, Clair Terrell, said, “This all started because our family grew quickly. We had five little great nieces and nephews born within a couple years. So I just started sewing and I love it. It’s my passion and I just wanted to turn it into a business.”

The name of the business is inspired by Terrell’s grandmother, Gatsy Grace. Clair and her husband are both Daingerfield natives. Terrell said she loves her community and wants to help other local businesses flourish too, which is why she was happy to rent her half of the building from Cindy Patman, the owner of Southern Roots Flowers and the Glory Be Hat Company.

“We expanded a little,” Patman said. “The Glory Bee Hat Company is Northeast Texas’ first hat company. It’s a great place to get funny gifts, birthday cards, or just have a girls’ night to customize cute hats.”

Patman bought the current building in 2022 for her boutique and flowershop. When Terrell came to her about renting half for Gatsie’s Grace, Patman was all too happy to oblige.

Patman gushed about Terrell’s grand opening, “I am super excited for Clair. She works so hard. I’m excited to show what talent is here.”

Both shop owners seem to have the same goal in mind. Terrell said, “We want to expand. I want to do a baby registry, eventually a baby registry, and things like that.”

businesses really supporting each other. And for everyone who thinks you don’t look good in a hat, come on in. I’ll show you one you look good in!”

Gatsie’s Grace and the Glory Be Hat Company are located at 1310 Linda Drive in Daingerfield. Gatsie’s hours are Wednesday to Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Saturdays, the store is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Hat Company is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m
