Woman pleads guilty in daughter's fentanyl poisoning death
BRIGHTON, Colo. — A woman pleaded guilty Thursday in connection with the January 2022 fentanyl poisoning death of her toddler daughter. Nicole Casias, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of child abuse knowingly/recklessly causing death and one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, according to court documents.

SVVSD school board plans for 8.45% raises in budget plan
St. Vrain Valley School District leaders plans to put an employee cost-of-living raise of 8.45 % in next school year’s budget. The district plans to spend an additional $28.2 million on employee compensation. For teachers, the district plans to add $5,500 to the base salary, raising it to $62,500 a year — potentially the highest starting teacher salary in the state, depending on the results of negotiations in other school districts.

RTD temporarily relocates bus stops in Longmont
Effective May 26, RTD will relocate all bus stops on Eighth Avenue and Coffman Street to Eighth Avenue and Bross Street — across Roosevelt Park.
