Parts of West Gore to close for 4-lane widening project
LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Starting Monday, May 6, West Gore Boulevard between 67th and 82nd Street will be closed as construction gets underway. The construction project is set to widen the road to four lanes, while creating a center turn lane, and bicycle lanes. Construction is expected to continue through May 2025.

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Good evening Texoma! After a long day of severe weather coverage, we are finally winding down for the night. We had multiple tornado warnings move through our area today. The only hazard that is left for tonight is areas of deeper flooding. Some road closures remain, and if you aren’t sure how deep a puddle is DO NOT drive through it. Don’t be surprised if you continue to hear thunder move through our area.

EAKLY, Okla. — Sky 5 captured the moment a tornado formed and touched down Saturday afternoon near Eakly, which is a town in Caddo County. In the video from around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, a large rotation could be seen lowering from the sky and dirt and grass on the ground kicking up. A second lowering started to form from that same storm cell, but it didn't lower that far.

CITY OF LAWTON BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF GRAY WARR PARK
Gray Warr park in Lawton is under construction as part of phase one of the Parks and Rec Department city parks upgrades. The goal is to enhance a majority of parks with the latest equipment. In Gray Warr's case -- the old park will be deconstructed with the new one being built right next to it. the basketball and tennis courts are also expected to be upgraded-- with a new parking lot also being added to the list.
