Baseball Game Preview: Smithfield Plays at Home
After three games on the road, Smithfield is heading back home. They will take on the South Kingstown Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Smithfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: South Kingstown, who was ranked second in their home state at the time (Smithfield was ranked 21st). Smithfield lost 10-0 to South Kingstown on Saturday. Smithfield has struggled against South Kingstown recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Chariho’s Adriana Jeannenot has a remarkable day
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Chariho’s freshman pitcher Adriana Jeannenot reached 200 strikeouts in the second inning against Smithfield. She wound up with 15 strikeouts for the game in the 9-1 victory over Smithfield. Jeannenot gave up only two hits and walked none.

East Providence and West Warwick have a slugfest
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – East Providence and West Warwick swung the big bats. The matchup was full of extra-base hits. The big blast came from East Providence’s Shelby Quinn who hit a grand slam in the 4th inning. It was her second home run of the day. East Providence outlasts West Warwick, 11-9.
