The Culver Bulldogs are on a four-game winning streak.

The Dawgs topped Sherman/Condon/Arlington/Wheeler April 16 in Culver 7-2. It followed three straight wins for the Bulldogs over Special District 3 foe Crosshill Christian.

This week, Coach Kyle Kuust’s squad has three games East Linn Christian. The first at home Tuesday, April 23, then a doubleheader on the road on Friday. East Linn Christian is 1-8 in league play and has lost six consecutive games. They have an OSAA power ranking of 39. Culver is 3-3 in conference and 8-5 overall and sports a 24th power ranking.

Regis, which swept a three-game series with Culver earlier in the year, is 6-0 in league and Monroe/Alsea is 7-2. Santiam and Central Linn, at 5-4, are battling with the Bulldogs for that third-place spot at this point in the season.

Lady Bulldogs

The Culver Bulldogs softball squad, trying to put their season back together after the losing a team leader in Jorja Nelson in a car accident April 8, lost three games last week, all on the road.

The Bulldogs fell to Regis 15-5 on April 16 then lost a doubleheader to Gervais April 18, 17-2 in the opener before getting more done offensively in the second but falling 19-9.

The Lady Dawgs remain as road warriors this week, with games at Central Linn Tuesday then going to Santiam for a doubleheader Friday.
