    Thursday's NWS Severe Outlook

Severe thunderstorms will be possible in the Crossroads over the next 24 hours. Latest computer model guidance suggests possible waves of strong-severe thunderstorms entering the Crossroads between this evening and tomorrow afternoon. The first wave of thunderstorms will arrive in the early evening tonight around 7 p.m. reaching the northern Crossroads counties first then pushing southeast towards the coast before 10 p.m. Then overnight, a second wave of showers and thunderstorms will be possible some time after 3 a.m. with shower/thunderstorm activity potentially continuing into the mid-late afternoon tomorrow. Small hail up to 1 inch max diameter and damaging winds will be the main threats tonight but a short-lived tornado cannot be ruled out. Northern and eastern Crossroads counties will be at the greatest at risk tonight, but as the storm boundary gets closer, the southern half of Crossroads counties will be at risk tomorrow morning and afternoon. The tornado threat diminishes with thunderstorm activity tomorrow, but hail and winds still remain a possibility. There is always a chance that not a single shower or thunderstorm develops or passes through the Crossroads, but with the robust environment this system is moving into, it's always good to stay weather aware! See below for a future radar loop that was run at 9 a.m. this morning.
