Prep Softball: Players to Watch list as the CIF-SS playoff brackets are released
The CIF-Southern Section softball playoff brackets were released Saturday morning, and 12 local squads will begin their quests at hoisting a title. It’s a feat last accomplished locally by Sultana in 2021 and three players from that squad are currently on the Sultans’ roster, including Hope Merrill and Katelyn Parrish, who are some of the top players on which to keep an eye during the postseason.

Prep Baseball: Borrego and Booth lead Sultana past Apple Valley for 2nd place in MRL
The Sultana baseball team knew coming into Friday’s game against Apple Valley things would be much different than their game two days prior. Earlier in the week, Sultana beat Apple Valley in a 16-1 blowout, having to win that game to force a showdown for second place in the Mojave River League standings.
Burros track and field have 17 qualify for CIF
After finishing the Mojave River League meets, the 2024 MRL champions Burroughs girls and the boys track and field teams turned their attention to the MRL Finals meet at Oak Hills. The Burros went into the event knowing they had a chance to qualify for CIF-SS Division 3 Preliminary meet at Yorba Linda High School on Thursday, May 4th.
