Wohner sentenced to 22 years
Joseph Wohner, who was facing a murder charge, appeared in Marion Circuit Court Division 2 on May 9 and pleaded guilty to an amended charge of first-degree manslaughter. Wohner, 45, was charged with the 2021 murder of Joshua Paul Mudd. He originally was charged with murder, but the Commonwealth agreed to a lesser charge of first-degree manslaughter in exchange for a guilty plea and Judge Kaelin Reed sentenced Wohner to 17 years. He also pleaded guilty to a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, for which he was sentenced to 5 years to run consecutively with the manslaughter charge; convicted felon in possession of a handgun, enhancement cultivation of marijuana 5 or more plants, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and enhancement trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces, first offense, for which he was sentenced to 5 years on each count to run concurrent with his other charges for a total of 22 years.
