After more than a century, an old Massachusetts cranberry farm gets new life as a wetland
Century Bog, a 75-acre stretch of fields and woods across Plymouth and Wareham, looks more like a construction site than a former cranberry bog. Excavators have churned up soil, ripped out pine trees and broken up buried plastic piping. In their place are wide moats of thick, sloppy mud, so dark they’re nearly black.

Hasbro tells nearly 600 RI workers to work in Boston or quit
Toy giant Hasbro has told 587 Rhode Island-based employees to either relocate to their new Boston headquarters or quit. The move comes as Hasbro, previously based in Pawtucket, plans to shutter its headquarters, put it on the market , and fully transition into its newly built out office space in the Boston Seaport by the end of the year. Hasbro filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act Notice (WARN) with the state on Oct. 8 , required per federal law. Normally the notices are required when a company plans layoffs. In this instance, Hasbro sent the state the letter because it is closing its Rhode Island operations and moving them to Boston. How many workers will choose to quit rather than relocate is unknown, so the company sent the notice, according to the letter. Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN letters, are required under federal law to be sent to the state in advance of plant closures and mass layoffs. Hasbro Spokeswoman Kristen Levy wrote in an email that Hasbro's statement is that the WARN notice "does not represent a new announcement or layoff notice." "We communicated the move to employees on Sept. 1, 2025 and have been
