Covington Police Department Offers Tips on Avoiding Scams
COVINGTON — The Covington Police Department has launched an effort to educate residents on ways to avoid becoming the victim of fraud and scams. According to a statement from the CPD Investigative Division, “Criminals use the phone, email and mail to scam people by preying on their emotions. Avoid falling for their lies and empty promises by using the following tips and resources. Protect yourself and your future.”

Free Tire Disposal, Cleanup Events Planned in Newton County

First up, on May 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be a free Tire Disposal Day at the Cook Road Convenience Center, 10 Cook Road, Covington. The event is open to Newton County residents only.
