Central Hallway Farmhouse, Mitchell County
I’m still looking through older, unpublished photographs and discovered this one, made in 2017 in Mitchell County. It’s a typical central hallway form, common among Georgia’s farmhouses, with board-and-batten siding. A front porch appears to have collapsed or been removed, which is also typical with abandoned properties. I share as many of these houses as I can because they are so emblematic of rural Georgia. This house likely dates to the early 1900s. If anyone recognizes the location, please contact me.

Three Gang Members Convicted of Murder in Dougherty County
Attorney General Chris Carr announced the conviction of Demondarrius Jaquan Hicks, Jotorious Devante Cox, and Mckeal Raynard Lamar, Jr. for the murder of 30-year-old Kartavious Jones in Dougherty County. The three individuals, who are members of the Inglewood Family Gangster Bloods, shot and killed Jones on Oct. 9, 2018, in Albany, Georgia. The verdict was returned by a Dougherty County Jury on Feb. 16, 2024, following a 10-day trial. Sentencing is scheduled within the next 30 days.
