4 now face charges in fatal Summerville shooting
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) - Summerville Police say four people have been arrested in connection with a shooting last month that left a 20-year-old man dead. Zyon Vaughn, 17; Dominique Dawson Jr., 18; and Tyshawn Mashack, 23; each face a charge of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. A fourth man, Brandon Steplight, 19, was charged last month with accessory after the fact to felony murder, according to Lt. Shaun Tumbleston.
Women Only Mutiny Mermaid Mixer Planned for Cane Bay Beach on May 19
The Mutiny Mermaid Mixer will make a splash at 8 a.m., Sunday, May 19, at Cane Bay Beach. This women-only relay event will feature a 400-meter swim and a 2-mile run. The fun part about the event is that each woman will register to complete the swim or the run, and the Mermaid Mixer Committee will randomly select each participant’s teammate just prior to the start of the event. The event focuses more on camaraderie and fellowship and less on competition.
Edisto Natchez-Kusso Tribe breaks ground on community center
Ground breaking ceremonies for a new Robert Davidson Community Center at 113 Tee Pee Lane, Ridgeville, S.C. were held on Saturday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. The center is named after the late Robert Davidson, Chief of the The Edisto Natchez-Kusso Tribe from 1969-1982. He led the tribe to state recognition as indigenous Native Americans in 1972. He was also instrumental in getting Native American children integrated into the public school system.
Coroner identifies victim in head-on collision on US 321
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A man has been identified after a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Lexington County, according to the Lexington County Coroner's Office. Walterboro Lions Club hold Monthly Meeting
The Walterboro Lions Club held its monthly meeting on May 8th at 1:00 PM. The meeting held at Dukes Bar B Que was called to order by Vice President Bob Pence. The meeting began with the singing of “My County tis of Thee” and the Pledge of Allegiance followed by prayer. David Dodd introduced the guest speaker Shawn Lyons of Coastal Electric Cooperative. The group also heard an update on the Rice Festival and heard a review of the Lion’s eye screening program.

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) -Someone in the Lowcountry has a Mega Millions ticket worth $40,000. The ticket was sold at the Circle K at 1595 Trolley Rd. in Summerville. DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man who died in an early morning crash. Thomas Price, 25, of Cottageville, died from injuries sustained in the crash, Coroner Paul Brouthers said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:58 a.m.
