Tragically, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, intensifying the severity of his injuries.
Cosmopolis council race added to recount list
The Grays Harbor County Auditor’s Office next week will recount the votes cast in the race for Cosmopolis City Council Position 4. Election officials Tuesday afternoon certified the results in that race, with Mark Collett leading Sue Darcy by two votes, 287-285. As previously reported by The Daily World, the office did not call for a recount at that time. Grays Harbor County Auditor Joe Maclean said on Wednesday morning, however, that further calculations confirmed the close race will indeed require a recount by machine.
Sheriff’s office seeking info following raceway break-in
The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at the Grays Harbor Raceway over the weekend. The raceway has provided camera footage of a man breaking in, posted on social media, but the sheriff’s office doesn’t have an ID for him yet, said Chief Criminal Deputy Jason Wecker.

Police were able to locate and arrest a 63-year-old Aberdeen resident for felony hit and run and the man’s van was seized as evidence.
