Tuesday’s Weather: Plenty of sunshine and warm
EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - We are off to another muggy start to the day which has resulted in some patchy, dense fog this morning. Be sure you’re careful on your morning commute, but at the very least, at least we’re not dealing with widespread showers and storms like yesterday morning! Our mild 60s this AM will lead to a warm afternoon with highs in the lower to middle 80s and mostly sunny skies. An isolated shower will be possible for areas south of I-20, but more look to stay dry today. Wednesday looks to start off mostly dry, but scattered rain chances return later in the afternoon hours with a few thunderstorms possible at times. Rain will be much more likely and widespread throughout the day Thursday and into the first half of Friday, before a cold front quickly pushes through and gives us a brief break from likely rain chances Friday evening into Saturday morning. Scattered rain chances return on Saturday afternoon with a bit better coverage expected throughout the day Sunday. At this time, it seems like Saturday would be the better day to get anything outdoors done but you’ll still need to be weather alert just to be safe. Keep in mind that river flooding takes time(sometimes days) to peak after a round of heavy flooding rains. If barricades are still up on some county roads then they are there for a reason. Please never attempt to drive through high flood waters. Better to arrive late rather than not at all.
