Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to host watch parties for NCAA bound beach volleyball, women's tennis

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has announced two NCAA Tournament Selection Show watch parties will be held on campus this week

The Islanders women's tennis team and beach volleyball team each qualified by winning the Southland Conference Tournament.

For women's tennis, the berth is the fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, after becoming the first women's team to win four straight Southland Tournament titles with a 4-2 win against McNeese in the final.

Tennis will host its watch party at 5 p.m. April 29 at the University Center Lonestar Ballroom.

Islanders beach volleyball, which has been nationally ranked for the first time this season, claimed its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance by winning the Southland tournament title.

A&M-Corpus Christi improved to 28-9 on the season, attaining the most single-season wins in program history.

Beach volleyball's selection show watch party is slated for 9:30 a.m. April 28 also at the UC Lonestar Ballroom.
