From poultry farm to champs: The story of the semi-pro College Hill Chix

Baseball became the premiere sport in Lebanon County through the 20th century and it grew in popularity amid two world wars. Aside from high school play, amateur competition was scheduled between every town in the area as squads from Lebanon, Palmyra, Fredericksburg and others led local loops from 1940 and beyond. Local leagues organized 16-game schedules made for shortened seasons and it helped maintain public interest through years of temporary rosters.
