Vermont State Police have reportedly solved a cold case in Northfield dating back more than 40 years and are expected to reveal new details about it next week. According to freelance journalist Mike Donoghue at Vermont News First, the case concerns the death of Matthew Isaac Doe. Four children found the remains of an infant boy in a garbage bag along Mill Hill Road in Northfield in April of 1982. He’d been born alive; police believed his parents abandoned him just hours later.
