An Anacortes Police Officer went to check on a report of a suspicious person and found the man completely naked in his vehicle. On Wednesday, Nov. 22, dispatch received a complaint of a suspicious person, later identified as an Anacortes man, trying to hide from vehicles as they passed and that he was driving his vehicle around the area. An officer responded and contacted the man sleeping in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, completely naked. The officer woke the man up, and he said he had spilled something on his shirt and was waiting for it to dry. The officer suggested relocating to a less public place to collect himself. The officer did not observe any indications of impairment.

State Avenue closure for Merrysville holiday parade on December 2
MARYSVILLE, Wash., November 27, 2023—On the evening of Saturday, December 2, State Avenue will be closed between 4th Street (SR 528) and Grove Street for the Merrysville for the Holidays Electric Lights Parade. The road closure will start at 6 p.m. and State Avenue will reopen by 10 p.m. or earlier if possible. Marked detour routes use Cedar Avenue, Grove Street and Armar Road.
