CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — Conway police on Wednesday revealed a connection between two deadly shootings earlier this year.
Police confirmed that 18-year-old Ja’Mir Johnson, a Carolina Forest High School student, who was was found dead Feb. 1 after a shooting near a school bus stop near 8th Avenue and Rufus Street, was allegedly involved in a robbery and deadly shooting less than a month earlier.
Justice Jhamere Bright, 22, was jailed Tuesday in connection with a deadly shooting on Jan. 10 along Hemingway Street. Bright, who’s facing multiple charges in the killing of Ty’ree Leonardo Graham , was arrested after fleeing from officers and resisting arrest, according to warrants provided to News13 by Conway police.
Those warrants also indicate Johnson was a suspect in the shooting and that both him and Bright “conspired to arm themselves in order to commit an armed robbery and murder of Ty’ree Graham.”
Police said on Wednesday that the vehicle was located and processed for evidence. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Conway police at 843-488-7855.
As of this writing, Bright was still at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, according to online booking records.
