Holland City Council to Tour Housing Project Sites Tonight
HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 24, 2026) – The Holland City Council is going on a field trip on Wednesday evening. After convening its biweekly Study Session at 6 PM in the second floor Training Room of Holland City Hall, members of the Governing Panel will be joined by city staffers on a van tour to look at past, present, and future housing projects in the Tulip City. This comes a week after the Hope Apartments project off of West 10th Street and Pine Avenue had a media preview of its pending opening, as well as Mayor Nathan Bocks, with his fellow Council members, canceling a letter of credit for Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity due to the imminent completion of the Vista Green housing development off of West 36th Street.

Decision on condo project again postponed in Saugatuck Township
A controversial development has been placed on hold again , following the cancellation of a meeting of the Saugatuck Planning Commission on June 16. The Enclave, a proposed condominium development on Old Allegan Road, has been a topic of discussion for several months. A decision on the rezoning request from C-1/R-1 to Planned Unit Development was initially tabled in January, then postponed in March and April. The development would include a multi‑unit building, attached single‑family homes and detached single‑family homes on 9.13 acres at 6549 Old Allegan Road. The project would have two-, three- and four-bedroom layouts. Residents have questioned whether the project’s scale is appropriate for the parcel, and whether proposed setbacks are sufficient. Saugatuck Township has received numerous letters opposing the development. The topic was included on the posted agenda for June 16, but the meeting was cancelled due to a "lack of business" June 15. More: 36-unit housing development near Saugatuck tabled after public outcry Saugatuck Township Zoning Administrator Lynne Wells said developers are taking additional time to review and modify their "parallel plan," so it meets code requirements and wetland setbacks. Wells expects The Enclave will return before commissioners later this summer. The body next meets
