Ice cream shop ‘on a mission to make ice cream less vanilla' opens in Concord's The Veranda

( KRON ) — A popular San Francisco-based ice cream shop is expanding further with a new location in the East Bay. Humphry Slocombe opened on Monday at The Veranda in Concord, according to the ice cream company’s website .
Only for Monday’s grand opening, Humphry Slocombe will give out free scoops from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Customers are invited to donate $1 to its charity partner Project Open Hand. More details can be found on the event page .
The Concord ice cream shop is located at 2045 Diamond Blvd. #34.

Founded in 2008 by Jake Godby and Sean Vahey, Humphry Slocombe began in San Francisco as an ice cream company “on a mission to make ice cream less vanilla.”
There are three Humphry Slocombe locations in San Francisco: Ferry Building, Dogpatch and Mission District. There are also locations in Oakland, Berkeley, Redwood City, Emeryville, Campbell and San Mateo.
