Life sentence with no chance of parole for Miami man
MIAMI, Okla. – A Miami man who pleaded guilty to the stabbing death of a friend was sentenced to life with no chance of parole on Tuesday. Travis Johnson entered a blind plea in November to first-degree murder in the Aug. 23, 2021 death of Johnny Euran, of Miami. Johnson appeared before District Judge Jennifer McAffrey for his sentencing hearing.
Two Joplin men arrested on drug charges & more after pursuit
JOPLIN, Mo. — Two men are arrested on drug charges and more after police say they fled from officers in a stolen vehicle last week. The Joplin Police Department says the pursuit began with an attempted traffic stop Friday afternoon on a 2017 Toyota Yaris for traffic violations. Instead of stopping, police say the suspect car fled from officers and went west out of Joplin and into Kansas before returning back to Missouri.
