Columbus City offices closed on Memorial Day, trash pickup delayed one day
COLUMBUS, Ind. -The City of Columbus reminds residents that all of its offices, including Columbus City Utilities, will be closed this Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day. There will be no trash or recycling pick-ups on that day. All collections will run one day behind for the remainder of the week with normal Friday collection on Saturday, June 1. City officials urge you to have your toters out by 7 a.m.
Southern Indiana auditor arrested for fraud and theft
JACKSON COUNTY, Ind — Indiana State Police arrested a former Jackson County auditor Friday on multiple felony charges of misconduct which occurred while she was the auditor. Staci Eglen, 44, of Seymour, Indiana, was charged with four counts of official misconduct (level six felony), four counts of theft (level 6 felony), and two counts of fraud (level 6 felony).
