SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - The Sherman Bearcats held a signing day that is sending six more Bearcat athletes into the college ranks. Sherman basketball standout Shamiah Johnson signed with Ranger College to play her college ball. Sherman baseball standout Antonio Zamora will also head to Ranger to play at the next level.
Drivers stranded on I-35 near Gainesville due to poor road conditions
GAINESVILLE, Texas — Dozens of cars were left on a North Texas highway Thursday as poor road conditions made the highways and many surrounding roads impassable. A WFAA viewer said she had been stuck in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 in Gainesville for more than three hours. Gainesville is located in Cook County just north of Denton.
S&S names Pike new head football coach
SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - The S&S Rams have named Dan Pike the new head football coach of the Rams. PIke comes over from Colleyville Heritage High School where he was the offensive coordinator. He replaces Jeff Hill, who left after two seasons at the helm.
Downed power line leads to detours in Pottsboro
POTTSBORO, Texas (KTEN) — A downed power line near Pottsboro Middle School forced the closure of Cardinal Lane just before class pickup time on Tuesday afternoon. Dirt was being moved by workers on the new campus when the rotted utility pole uprooted and collapsed onto the road between FM 120 and Jewel Street.
