MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - After rain on Monday and a dreary start to Tuesday, Wednesday looks to make it all worthwhile. Today, sunny skies prevail with a high in the mid 80s. That will carry over into Thursday with a high in the upper 80s. Clouds increase throughout the latter half of Thursday ahead of yet another cold front moving in on Friday. Friday will have a high in the low 80s with rain throughout the day with/ahead of an associated cold front.

Aldermen approve redistricting
A public hearing was held last Tuesday to review and approve the city's new redistricting plan. The city engaged East Central Planning and Development District (ECPDD) to help with the redistricting process, which occurs every 10 years to ensure that wards maintain equal population distribution, with a target percent deviation of about 10 percent.

Severe threat has fizzled for Monday night
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - UPDATE: Severe threat is over for the night. Heavy rain this morning made the commute a soggy one for sure, rainfall estimates ranged from 1-3″ on average. Thankfully, that rain moved out by Midday... and the rest of the afternoon has been rather pleasant. Yet, another wave of rain is on the way, and there’s a low-end threat for isolated severe storms affiliated with it. Damaging wind and hail are the main threats, but even those threats are low as our overall severe risk has lessened due to a lack of instability in our area.
