COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – A local College Place family is in need of help. A 16-year-old high school junior is battling a rare form of cancer.

Bryson Castillo and his mom, Debra, say at first medical workers thought Bryson was suffering from growing  pains - until the pain became unbearable.

That's when Debra pleaded for an MRI, which then revealed that her son had a rare form of cancer.

He lost a lot of weight because the pain made him lose his appetite, Castillo said.

They have started a go-fund-me to help with his treatment while battling the cancer.

They really appreciate all the support they are receiving, they said.

"A whole bunch of family support and people, my school sent me a whole bunch of letters that they all formed up and did and that was nice. It's like I don't know how to explain its motivating,” Castillo said.

“To know we're not alone. There's a lot of support in the community. It's very helpful," Castillo said.
