FIVE FIRE COMPANIES CALLED OUT FOR BRUSH FIRE IN ARMSTRONG TOWNSHIP
Multiple fire departments were dispatched for a brush fire in Armstrong Township yesterday. Indiana County 911 reported the brush fire at 2:08 PM on Lacey Lane east of Shelocta. Elderton Fire Department was first called to the scene at that time, but at 2:11 PM, Indiana, Creekside and Iselin Fire Departments were called in to assist, along with tankers from Elderton, Creekside and Coal Run-McIntyre fire departments. Plumville fire department was also called in at 2:36 PM. Marion Center firefighters were called in shortly after that for standby detail.

As the snow started to fall Friday night, Indiana County’s first responders were busy with several incidents within 24 hours. The first incident was reported around 8:00 PM as Cherryhill and Pine Township fire departments were dispatched to a location on Pine Flats Road for what was classified by Indiana County 911 as an “unknown-type fire.” That was followed by a two-vehicle accident reported on Route 286 East in Glen Campbell Borough at 9:42 PM. Another accident occurred on 286 West in Young Township, around 11 PM.
